2023-24 Milwaukee Bucks Season Thread

I don't know what to say. Blown out by a team that had 60% of their starting five out for a game. The Bucks stunk!

Nothing more I can say. They just plain quit playing defense again. They let marginal players beat them up out there. It's hard to believe we have any hope for this team.

Time to trade everyone!

Currently, it doesn't appear Doc is the answer. 3-6?
I'm beginning to wonder if the way Holiday was traded has destroyed the team chemistry. Is it possible the players have turned sour against Horst, and it's having a bad effect on the floor? I do believe, and I said it as soon as they made the trade, I would much rather have Holiday than Lillard because of what he brings to a team, and his community.

I also believe I'd much rather have Jevon Carter, and P.J. Tucker at 38. These two guys brought the heat on defense, and made life easier for Holiday and the rest of them.

To me, this whole bit with Khris Middleton isn't helping. He should have been dealt prior to the trade deadline, even if it meant eating a chunk of his contract. The Bucks ownership has already given Horst the green light to make moves, even if it meant paying the luxury tax.

Horst has systematically ruined the chemistry of the team, and compounded the problem with two consecutive coaching hires now. I can't believe the Bucks ownership can't see it.

Well Jimmy Haslem is part owner so not seeing a screwed up team is the norm for him.

While Holiday was a key cog in their championship run, I think his "individual" defensive prowess was a bit over-rated. I also don't think trading him away destroyed the chemistry, but you would think by halfway thru the season they would have that figured out.
I do like the Beverly trade, in that it does provide a PJ Tucker kind of player (who I do was key to their championship run) that can come off the bench and play defense and hit an occasionally 3-ptr.
I also agree that with Lillard, Middleton's value is diminshed, but unfortunately it's gonna be really hard to trade KM.

I began to wonder if my eyes deceived me on Holiday, so I decided to check the internet. The article is from a year ago, but I don't think he skipped a beat last year. It isn't necessarily how well plays defense individually, but what he brings to the defense at the point of attack, and that's what his role was with the Bucks, and prior to that time. It allows the other 4 guys on the floor the opportunity of playing their defensive game without having to back play everything up the middle.

Interesting article. Over 25% of Nba players said he was the best defensive player in the league, yet his team-mate Lopez was 2nd in the DPOY voting rather than him. Don't get me wrong, I wish he was still with the Bucks, especially for the defensive leadership you mentioned - but I'm guessing there was nobody else they could have given up in the trade to get Lillard.

I would not be shocked if Lillard is playing with a I don't give a care attitude in MKE. He wanted to be in Miami and not Milwaukee. Maybe if he shows he has a bad year he can force the Bucks to trade him to Miami in the off-season.
