Post Game GB Defeats MN On The Road. NFC North Champions!!!!

Took Matt Ryan a year to get up to speed in Matt's offense. They went 8-8 first year. Next year, Matty Ice won MVP.

Footwork and mechanics wouldn't hurt, but I think even better things are coming than what we are seeing now.

Interesting info from last night.
Kevin King has coverage for most of night on Adam Theilen and held him to zero catches, plus added an INT.

anomoly?
Or is this a harbinger of things to come?

The difference was our OL was better than Minnesota OL. Packers dominate the LOS. Sometimes the game is that simple.

Not pretty but a win. Couple of things
  • The Minnesota offensive game plan made Kellen Moore and Jason Garrett look like Lincoln Riley
  • WR, this is not breaking news but it’s 17 and nobody. I get Lazard made a play or 2 but he’s not a threat
  • Left points on the field. I know it was behind him but 17 has to catch that. Can’t do that in the playoffs
  • Just let someone other than 80 play TE. He is a liability, can’t block, not a red zone threat
  • Rodgers footwork and mechanics— flawless

When healthy, I think King is pretty damn good. Not top tier, but a solid NFL cornerback. I'm also hopeful Alexander will continue to develop. It's a position is that I feel pretty good about. Not good enough to ignore the position in the draft, but not a priority either.

That was a solid win last night. We can certainly assume that the game would have been closer had Cook played, but he would not have been enough to offset a very mediocre performance by Cousins. I still think we'll have some trouble in the playoffs but this was a hell of a first season for ML.

It seemed last night that AR bought into the "take what's there" philosophy a little more. Still took some downfield shots and held the ball at times, but left the offense in manageable down and distance situations for most of the night.

Just a pet peeve, but they ran that naked bootleg again with AR and it was a complete mess again. That play needs to be drawn up better because it's really become a high risk/low reward type play.

I haven't read through everyone's reply yet but here goes.

Studs: Defense and Z. Smith. He played like his hair was on fire. The defense as a whole was pumped up.
Kevin King- So glad that he is fairly healthy this season. The interception was a beauty.

Second half LaFleur made some adjustments and Aaron seemed to play within the scheme. What do you know? They finally started marching down the field and scored.

Jones with that long TD run just left me speechless.

Duds: The offense in the first half. Rodgers/LaFleur continually going for the long ball. And looking for Adams over and over again....although I did notice that the other receivers were not getting any separation.

But the team didn't get frustrated or 'give up' they kept on playing and fighting and won. I honestly did not think that would happen watching all the mistakes initially.

Great game. Great win. I love this: The North is Not Enough.gopackgo

Negatives: Injury to J. Williams

Positives: The greatest Christmas gift the Pack has given us all in a number of years. Great 2nd half. They gave themselves a much better shot at coming out of the NFC with this win. Just 4 more wins needed now and another trophy can be hoisted.

+ Defense stellar, including very stout against the run. That is a huge improvement to early in the season. Stout against Bears as well and so a pattern.

+Offensive Line - Rodgers generally had the time. Run blocking.

+Rushing Offense - incredible. When Jones ran for the final TD. Ecstasy. I said to my son in law during the game how enjoyable it is when it is your team and it fairly consistently gets 6 and 8 yards per running play. The Pack does that A LOT!

- Turnovers. Game otherwise would have been a blowout.

- Short passing game - this was generally highly successful and I think a dink and dunk offense (mixed with a couple big plays) would be consistently successful.

- Rodgers accuracy - it's just sometimes less such as the pass near the goal line to Davante Adams. It's a pattern.

Great season. Wasn't expecting this in ML first year at all.

last night's game was my favorite of the season. the defense was stout and that last offensive td drive was a thing of beauty.
