It's that time again for our annual pick the draft game..... as always round/player/ trades etc.
Thread locks 1 hour before the draft.

Good luck !

I usually go first. So here's my jello meet wall draft.

Round 2 Pick 13 - Carlton Davis CB Auburn
Round 3 Pick 12 - Geron Christian OT Louisville
Round 4 Pick 1 - Deontay Burnett WR USC
Round 4 Pick 33 - Jessie Bates III FS Wake Forest
Round 5 Pick 1 - Poona Ford DT Texas
Round 5 Pick 35 - Dalton Schultz TE Stanford
Round 5 Pick 37 - Davonte Harris CB Illinois State
Round 6 Pick 12 - Leon Jacobs OLB/DE Wisconsin
Round 6 Pick 33 - Cedric Wilson WR Boise State
Round 7 Pick 14 - KC McDermott OG/OT Miami
Round 7 Pick 21- - Ito Smith RB S.Miss

Here's my prediction, which only involves the first round because beyond that, who could know?

The Packers want to trade up to target the top 3 DBs. The only real target is the Bills at 12, assuming they can't make a move up for a QB and don't make a major mistake drafting Rudolph or Jackson there. They need OL help in a major way and if they can drop a couple spots and still grab McGlinchy at 14 and pick up a little something extra for their trouble, it makes sense for them.

But let's assume Buffalo either moves up to get a QB or is too proud to admit their mistake moving up (but not far enough) and sits tight at 12 and picks.

At 14 GB just misses out on the prime group of players. No one wants to trade up to 14, so we have to make a pick. The pundits will tell you that it's going to be Josh Jackson, or Marcus Davenport or Harold Landry based on GB's needs, but those guys are projects and have too much bust potential. My pick at 14 is: Rashaan Evans, ILB, Alabama.

Yes we need a slot corner. Yes we need outside rush. Forget it in the first, because the value just isn't there. The middle of GB's defense has been soft as mush since Dez Bishop tore his hamstring in 2012. That stops tomorrow. Evans can run, he can hit, he can shoot a gap and he can rush from the interior. He is not the brains of the operation but Blake can take on that role. Not a big playmaker in terms of getting his hands on the ball and taking it away, but Ro Smith has as many INTs (zero) and 1 more FF (3 v 2) than Evans, and he'll be long gone. Is 14 high for him? Maybe, but IMO this guy will start from day 1, he will play, he will contribute and we will be happy he's there.

Defense starts up front, and it continues up the middle. The long neglect of this part of the D must end, this year it's a strength of the draft and this year we finally fix it.

Hi fellow Packer fans! I have spent less time looking at the draft this year than I have in quite a few years. Haven't had time to post but have been reading a little. Not very up on prospects beyond the 2nd round, but I'll give it a go.

1) Marcus Davenport, DE/OLB, UTSA
2) Mike Hughes, CB, Central Florida
3) Michael Gallup, WR, Colorado St.
4) Daurice Fountain, WR, Northern Iowa
4) Tavarius Moore, FS, Southern Miss
5) Brian O'Neill, OT, Pittsburgh
5) Jordan Thomas, TE, Miss State
5) Jalen Davis, CB, Utah St.
6) Kevin Toliver II, CB, LSU
6) David Bright, OT, Stanford
7) Kemoko Turay, OLB, Rutgers
7) Dorance Armstrong, OLB, Kansas

Wow, what a crap shoot this year. I've put more time in than usual on this draft (since we're picking so high) and I still feel less confident than ever. Having a new GM, wondering what his perspectives are on everything from our current roster to his own valuation of recent draft picks. Anyway, I see T. Williams from the Chargers just signed his tender which makes him tradable. So we trade back three spots with Chargers and pick up a WR. That would be ideal. Instead, we stay put and watch the Mighty Fitz fall into our lap.
