How does someone who gets paid to talk about the NFL forget about a two-time MVP?

Former NFL players who become analysts often carry over biases from their playing days. This afternoon, it seemed that former Vikings, Seahawks, and Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson was one of those people.

Burleson, who now works for the NFL Network, has been putting out some top-five lists of players at different positions this week. One position that he looked at on Tuesday was the quarterback spot.

Now, tell me that there isn’t something or someone important missing from this list:

Top 5 QBs in the NFL (via @Nate13Burleson):

1. Cam
2. Russ
3. Brady
4. Palmer
5. Benhttps://t.co/4RAbN3ZeQz pic.twitter.com/dvIyfZzexx

Maybe a certain two-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl XLV MVP? You know, the one who holds the NFL’s all-time career record for passer rating. What’s his name again?

Oh yeah. Aaron Rodgers.

When someone pointed out that Burleson left the Packers’ quarterback off his list, he responded thusly:

My bad. A Rod is a beast! https://t.co/kYdJLLXkeg

Yep. He gave us all a “my bad, I forgot about him.”

I’m not sure what’s worse - Burleson intentionally leaving Rodgers off his top five, or somehow forgetting about Rodgers entirely. Either way, it’s not a good look for someone who gets paid because he is ostensibly knowledgeable about the league and its players.

Besides omitting a QB that many consider the best in the game his list is a joke. Cam is not the #1 QB in the game today. He had a nice 2015 season but most would place Brady, AR and maybe Wilson ahead of him without hesitation. I guess we should just consider the source...

Yawn a talking head giving an opinion. No news this time of year so create it lot about nothing

There is 2 guys you can for sure lock into the top 5 and that's Brady and Rodgers. Beyond that there is probably 4-5 guys by asking people that could be put into spots 3-5.

Begging all your pardons, I'm apparently too deep in my wife's reality tv bubble, but I was referring to the Aaron Rodgers-Jordan Rodgers drama that has come out of Jordan's run on the Bachelorette.

There will be time to debate Aaron's place among the all time greats, but this family feud is the real deal! Offseason, woo!
