As one NFL legend is calling it quits, scores of players around the league are getting ready to find new homes.

For the hundreds of NFL players whose contracts expire on Wednesday, this week marks a transition period as most of them will end up in new places for the 2016 season. For one legendary quarterback, however, this is a very different kind of transition.

One of the most prolific quarterbacks in history - indeed, the player who broke most of Brett Favre's passing records - has decided to end his career on top.

Meanwhile, we continue to learn more about Packers kicker Mason Crosby's new contract, and we find a great story from another recently-retired legend about how he helped Crosby get his career back on track a few years ago.

Stay tuned to Acme Packing Company for all the free agency news as the legal tampering period begins today.

Our bet is that Perry is one of the first Packers to find a home in free agency - whether that is in Green Bay or elsewhere.

Mason Crosby credits Charles Woodson's pep talk for pulling him out of 2012 tailspin - ESPN
Woodson jokes that he was never a kicker, but his observations of Crosby were pretty simple that season: "Right now, you're a guy who's out there trying to kick field goals instead of just being a field goal kicker."

Nick Perry needs to go to a 4-3 team that will play him as a DE. He was not a 3-4 OLB.

Perry has played well here the last 2 years. His only issue now is staying healthy and has been better with that the last 2 years also. He is worth keeping, should get a raise but wont get a huge contract.

Nick Perry is such a wild card to me. The whole issue is exactly what Scoremore says: staying healthy. He has not been durable. To me Perry still has huge upside and growth potential if (and a BIG "if") he can remain healthy. His post-season performance demonstrated this. Teams know this so it will be interesting to see what they are willing to offer Perry in UFA.
