Heavily outshot, Badgers still manage a comfortable win over Penn State

Shots are important, but if they are bringing the old Badger Bob ways back, shots are less important because Bucky will always be moving the puck looking for good shots rather than just putting the puck on net. I'm not saying putting the puck on net isn't valuable, but the 70s Badger Bob teams frequently didn't shoot as often as opponents and they frequently scored more than opponents because they worked for quality scoring chances over quantity.

They only count as points on the board when they make it into the net. That's what goes up on the scoreboard. Make each shot the best it can be. He had a good philosophy.
