QB Prospects

If they like him and they trust the evaluation, pull the trigger. I thought they liked Josh Allen in 2018, we know they liked Drew Lock last year. Get your guy.
I just don't think we can take a QB in the first round quite yet. We're at a point where we need help at a few spots, and drafting a 1st round QB to sit a few seasons . .

This exact quote could be from January 2005.

So much depends how the board falls. If your guy (QB) is there in Rd 1 it’s hard to pass. Sure there are needs but if Murray is gone (very possible) you maybe reaching at LB. WR class is deep so you can risk looking at 2nd and 3rd to film that need. That all said Burrow, Tua, Hebert will be gone and very good chance Eason is also. Fromm IMO would be a reach in 1st.

If Packers take a QB in round one or two will have teh fans who don't understand that Rodgers is close to done screaming how he's still a great QB and why are you not getting him weapons like they did when the team drafted Rodgers and acted like Favre was going to play forever. These were the same idiots who came marching to Lambeau crying bring back Brett and signing petitions to make him the starting QB again in 2008.

We went to the shareholder's meeting that year. There was a ton of home made signs about bringing Favre back, and one guy had started an online site with stuff for sale. He gave me one of his signs to use outside Lambeau Field before everyone was let in. I threw it in the trunk of my car, figuring it would be a collector's item. It is. I've been offered $150 for it, but am hanging on to it like other memorabilia. In 100 years, one of my heirs can sell it for a cup of coffee... LOL

Anyhow, that year, when Murphy was invited to the stage to speak, there were a lot of boos in the crowd. It's amazing how many people had their wagons hitched the the Favre star, and not a few years down the road.

I've only been to three meetings since then. Fans are an interesting mix of people.

What happened with Favre will not happen with Rodgers, largely because Rodgers the person is not beloved the way Favre is.

my how absence makes the heart grow fonder.

are you forgetting how many fans hated favre because of his costly interceptions in big games, his arrogance about having to have his own private locker room, his stringing along the packers with his will he or won't he retire saga, etc?

All most fans care about is winning. The hate Favre crowd was the minority until the organization made a cluster F of his trade. The Rodgers divorce will be uglier

I don't think the Rodgers divorce will be worse. Favre was beloved by most. Rodgers has the aloft attitude of a hipster CA. I don't think that blends well with most Packer fans. So 2-3 years when it's his time to go and if he wants to play and GB wants to move on fans will be ok with it for the most part. I supported moving on from Favre and was ready for Rodgers because I was sick of Favre's retirement games. I am at the point I am ready for the Packers to groom a QB to replace Rodgers
