Official Week 17 Green Bay vs Chicago Thread

The team has been remarkably healthy in ML’s tenure, I don’t think we have anything to complain about on that front.

I am not going to make a big deal out of Bak getting hurt at practice you can't hold your guys out of practice in fear they will get hurt they still need snaps in practice. Usually most practices are light non-contact drills Bak just have just moved wrong or something.
Read somewhere it happened on walk through day. Buzzard’s luck.

that's just so hard to believe. with all the twists and turns his body takes during a typical game, just a walk-through was enough to cause that kind of injury. buzzard's luck is right.

Maybe some structural damage before? Slight ACL tear and not known about it? Have seen many patients that had partial ACL tears and not known it. Seriously. Just thought they tweaked a knee. They were just weekend warrior types and went on to just rest it. Wasn't until weeks later that they got and MRI and showed the slight tear. Weird stuff.

I think they still do some movement drills in walk throughs. Go back to Teddy Bridgewater, who blew up his knee in a non-contact practice situation. I’m very disappointed too and realistic about how much this hurts the team, I just think blaming this or that is too convenient. Shoulda woulda coulda.

I remember when there were comments about what a waste of money it was in signing Billy Turner as a free agent.

Again, not saying this to downplay the impact of losing Bakh, but look at it this way: the team is not built to drop back and sling it 30+ times and be in pass pro all the time. If you're asking them to do that, then the offense is going to stall anyway, because outside of Rodgers and Adams, we simply don't have the horses to make that work. They still have to play the same way, which is establish the ground game and then connect on play action. Of course a couple times a game you need Rodgers to convert on 3rd and long, and there's no replacement for a LT one on one blocking Mack or a player like that, and they'll need to find a way to make due, but overall, it's different than in years past. I think the way they're built and what they want to do is made to withstand a loss like this just a bit better than years past.

I think to help with the loss of Bak on passing downs you will see Lewis have more snaps helping block more.

That's a great perspective rp. I feel better now after reading that and you make great points. I trust ML and this staff to adjust accordingly.
