Tampa was on the schedule that year, NY was not. Tampa went to sleep that night thinking it was a done deal. Ted was paranoid Brett would beat him and put egg on his face
Yeah would have been best thing to do Favre never goes to Minn if he gets his TB wish and I don't think Favre would have done much in TB.

Well they were 9-3 under Garcia and when he got hurt they lost 4 in a row under Brian Griese so that was not a bad football team

So when Rodgers is traded will history judge it on what Jordan Love does or what the GB do with the draft picks they get say they get a couple 1st and thye go on to be great and Love is just average will it still make the trade good for GB?

For me draft picks

I don't think the Packers are going to get this wheelbarrow full of draft picks to be honest. I think they get some value, but it's not going to be so enormous that you can build off it. I think the fact that they're going to be looking for someone to swallow a lot of cap money they want to rework in a sign and trade deal would be more important.

I think the most they could get is a 1st next year, and maybe a 2nd the following year. Anything else would be a really good haul.

TW cap money does not change. The CBA is pretty clear on that. It is what it is except the 6/1 exception. Sign and trade is a NBA thing

Isn't it possible for the Packers to rewrite the next two years of Rodgers contract into a 3 year deal, where they include the front money into 3 equal parts, all guaranteed? Then trade him, with that contract, to another team, who would assume the full amount of the payments? I don't see anything that violates the rules in this scenario. Just curious.

Of course I realize that there would be a deal in principal between Rodgers and the new team to add money to that mix when on their roster.

He has $22m in signing bonus money which cannot be moved and a roster bonus that’s already paid. Hence the big cap hit

EDIT : technically not paid out. It’s paid as part of base so if he walks wound also lose that plus bonus money already paid

Dead money is dead money that can't be moved.

Ouch. That makes things a bit stickier.
