Packers 2026/27 Season Thread

Maybe it's just me but it feels like GB because of the cap is just trying to stay as is? I know it's early, but no urgency by Gute.

I can't think of a major impact player hitting FA. Some of the biggest names are coming from GB. FA this year should be about finding some depth, that's just what the market is saying.

The Packers have been making calls around the league for Defensive Tackles, per source. Two of the DTs they've called about: Eagles DT Jalen Carter, and Giants DT Dexter Lawrence. The Giants are "uber high on Lawrence" and are unlikely to move the star, while the Eagles have been fielding trade offers for the young DT. Carter is on the last year of his rookie contract.

Those are very deep waters in terms of player quality and I don't think GB has the ammo to pull that off
Nor cap space. Carter could be top 5 DT contract. GB can't afford to be paying top payment at several spots. They got a top 5 contract in Kraft coming up soon.

Packers are doing a simple restructure of OG Aaron Banks' contract to reduce his $24.8M cap hit, per source. He's due $7.7M base and $9.5M roster bonus, which the team can prorate. With Sean Rhyan signing, two IOL spots solidified in GB. Must address Elgton Jenkins' future

I figured GB would do that. GB was never going to cut him like many on social media were screaming for. He was hurt early on and when he got healthy later in year he was decent. Granted he will have to step up now in 2026 and play much better to avoid possibly being cut after this year but there was no way GB was giving up on him after one year.

Resigning offensive linemen who didn't protect our Quarterback and then didn't come to his aid after he got cheap shotted is a waste of money
