I’m more interested in keeping guys around who actually want to be here.

Frankly, I don’t even think he’s good enough on ST to just continually throw him out there.

Grant him his wish, move on, I see too many scenarios where this makes us a worse team by keeping him around.

His biggest problem was his inability to adjust to what was happening in front of him. At safety, you need to be able to read what's happening and react. He would become a spectator until it was too late to recover.

Frankly, I don’t even think he’s good enough on ST to just continually throw him out there.

Not only was he not good enough for ST, he’s been a stone cold liability and a penalty waiting to happen. I believe he led the ST in penalties two years in a row.

He hasn’t shown the ability to grasp the mental side of playing S, his physical traits have only translated to a very limited role on the field, he’s been unable to carve out a role for himself despite poor depth at S the past two years. Gute should’ve been actively shopping him anyway. Busted 2nd rounder, move on.

you have to have a willing trade partner to do that. i guess maybe we can trade him for another first or second round qb bust like kizer.
That or some team throws a cond. 6th or 7th at you saying he's on roster X amount of games you get the pick.

Right now, he’s skipping voluntary participation stuff. That only hurts Josh Jones.
The real test here will be if he doesn’t show for the mandatory mini camp.
If he skips that, but chooses to show for training camp, I’d let him stand and watch the entire training camp and then cut him on the last possible day.
Not many teams out there who would want a malcontent who also has a nothing resume’.

Jones is operating from a position of weakness. As has been said, he has very little good tape. There will be no willing trade partners at anything other than a 6th or 7th Rd pick and then it might be conditional. He'll come back because unlike Leveon Bell, sitting out will not be a viable option.
