Worth bearing in mind, only 15% of those drafted last year were non-combine invitees. That's about 38 draft picks.
All 7 2016 Packer draft picks were invited to the combine. Not sure if they all participated. How many of those ended up in GB?![]()
Watching the measuring results coming back. No big surprises other than Fournette's water weight (240). A little surprised at McCaffery only doing 10 reps on the bench when he took an extra month off from the bowl game to get ready! Pumphrey out wussed him with only 5 reps. That is weak! The biggest hands so far went to Roberts, TE from Toledo, with 11 1/2 inches. Those are huge mitts! Anybody see anything else of remote interest?
No thanks... we keep drafting weak route runners and get no return. Go draft a guy that understands routes and your 75 % there.A player I like. He's considered a good, but not great WR. A couple of things about him. A 4.50 40 time. The best this year was 4.45. He's big at roughly 220#, and 6-4. He started out playing out. Started at North Dakota, ended up at Northern Illinois University. Catches balls in numbers.
They say he's weak in running routes, but in Green Bay, that's what they "teach." If a guy wants to learn, he can. I wouldn't mind seeing them grab a guy like this in the middle rounds, and turning him into a 3 to 4 year project to replace Nelson. I think he could do the job because he's big and strong. Could end up being a Calvin Johnson type.
I figure 3rd or 4th round. Might be a perfect pick for our 3rd round comp pick.
