This is part of the story at UW, and it goes back to the last few years of the Chryst era. Clearly Fick has not done great and a big part of it is his fault, but a large part of it is also the lack of good players who should have been juniors and seniors the past 2 years and it shows in the past two drafts. Fick's recruits will just be juniors and RS Sophs this coming fall. Part of it is also the really tough schedule they drew.
I still think '26 is the make or break season for Fick. He'll have 4 years of his recruits and portal kids and a somewhat more manageable schedule. If they don't make a bowl game in '26 he's probably toast.
