That isn't really excited on the draft this year???

Think the team isn't as bad as some think it is and when healthy can compete with anyone. Last year was perfect storm for diaster and yet still made playoffs.

In many ways this is a very important draft for the Pack. We have a bunch of players becoming free agents over next 2 yrs and won't be able to keep everyone. Also we have players that will be seeing age 30 or better.....the cut-off for many under Thompson's control. Then there are the obvious holes for need. And overall depth is a concern.

But even with all of this, just not feeling it this year. Maybe retiring back after almost 30 yrs of doing drafts has something to do with it, but don't think that's it either. Can't put my finger on it exactly, but for whatever reason just not excited this year.......

I'm also not feeling the hype.

Last year I tried to do my own analysis of players. This year I haven't bothered to watch any film. I guess the more time you put into it, the more you get out of it, but still...

The 3-day draft is a beast. Just too much for me. 2 days over a weekend would be fine.

Following the first rounds would require me to stay up two consecutive nights - and potentially only to see TT trade out of the round. I may still do it, may not.

Part of it for me is how late the draft is. Springs is here, I'm outside doing yard work and fishing and the draft starts to get shoved to the side. Plus there is so much more time now to debate the players and options and by this point it's all been said, just get it over with already.

I think Salmar hit it. The three day affair is too much. It might appeal more to the short attention span society we live in, but to people who used to hunker down and really watch the draft? NO. I used to really enjoy watching the draft on its own. The intrigue, trades and watching it unfold like a movie. Lesser teams (front offices) get to regroup after the first round, not as fun as watching Detroit or Cleveland stumble out of the gate and roll down the hill.

The other part for me is that the amount of talent each year is actually incredible, but so hard to differentiate. This year there are maybe 15 first round talent wise picks? Then it levels off for almost three more rounds. The job the NFL network is doing on the big mystery of who is the first pick is annoying. They should have let the Rams sign Goff already, then the Eagles could sign Wentz and we'd get to pay attention to the rest of the draft. JMO.

To me it's more the lack of that superstar player in the draft. No real drama at the top of the board. That and....not that guy like Cam or Manzeil.

I feel ya. Late draft, for a guy that doesn't like trying g to figure out prospects but will sit for hours breaking down the Packers' picks, means I'm more than ready for it to have been over two weeks ago.

And stretching it out over three days? Ridiculous

I prefer draft during the week. Over the weekend was too long took up most of both days. This way weekend is free as you can do something on Saturday if you don't care about late rounds and Sunday it's over.

Nice to be out here in the beautiful Northwest. Draft isn't so late out here. I'll be watching and Terranimal, I too am excited to see what the Packers end up with. Just the right pieces and some good health (for once) and the Packers could end up winning it all. Bring it on! I'm getting pumped! cheesehead)

To be honest I completely forgot it was this week... I'll check in after each round maybe. But I'm definitely not as drawn to it as I used to be. I used to get phone updates for every pick, now I don't even bother.

That's understandable.

From my viewpoint, Americans tend to post most when it's early on work days. If I find out something revolutionary, I'd post it on a Monday right before y'all wake up.

There's a lot of forum activity while you're at work. Evenings there, not so much. Weekends are mostly dead.

It's somewhat different in Finland. Evenings and night are when you go talk about your hobbies during the week. Employers don't keep us on a tight leash or anything, but work is work. Weekends are poor on social media, because so many travel to their cottages, or country houses. While there's usually a 3G connection, it's an excuse to be truly cut off from the working world.
