Badger Men's BB Thread 2024/2025

I also saw an article stating that former Badger AJ Storr is on the hunt again. That guy either wears out his welcome really fast, or he just loses interest quickly. His next school will be his 8th in as many years.

2018-19: Kankakee High, 2019-20: Bishop Gorman High, 2020-21: AZ Compass Prep, 2021-22: IMG Academy, 2022-23: St. John’s, 2023-24: Wisconsin, 2024-25: Kansas, 2025-26: ???

Amos to the portal sucks for depth, but from his perspective I get it. Rapp is most likely the starter at the 4 spot and Amos can't play the 5 or wing positions so he'd be coming off the bench again. I'm sure that's not what he wants. Gard now needs to find a back-up at the 4 spot in the portal. Amos, Ilver, and Gilmore were the "bigger" guys off the bench last year and they're all gone.

Amos was going to be a bench player. Fair enough he wants a chance to start as any kid wants to start.

With all the focus today on the NFL draft I missed a couple of news items for Bucky basketball.

Wisconsin has added Lithuanian 6'9" center Aleksas Bieliauskas to the 2025-26 roster. The 19-year-old was supposedly also heavily pursued by Kansas. He was part of Lithuania's U18 Fiba World Championship Team in 2023. Bieliauskas averaged 8.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He is essentially coming in as a freshman this fall.

UW also picked up a fourth addition from the portal. Former Tulsa guard Braeden Carrington 6'5" will spend his senior season with the Badgers. As a junior, he averaged 7.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. He shot 35.1 percent from the field, including 33.6 percent from 3-point range. He's depth at shooting guard and wing.
