They talked on the radio that an inflamed tendon in his wrist has been bothering him for most of the season, and that Shaw and the team have been trying to work around it and play through it and that it's just not possible to do that anymore without time off.

Heller speculated that if Shaw was just "hurt" he'd be sent down, as he has an option left.
