Pre Camp Breakdown:QB

In this series of articles I will provide a breakdown of the Packers players by position--beginning with the offense and concluding with the defense. Included will be job descriptions and responsibilities, and player bio information and statistics. Finally, I will identify and predict the 2015 Packers starters, 2nd and 3rd string back ups. Starters, for the most part are obvious to pin point, but 2nd and 3rd stringers will be trickier predictions--given a few major battles that loom on the horizon of training camp. So let's begin at the most logical spot on offense: The Packers quarterbacks.
The quarterback is the leader of the team, much like a principal of a school, and off the cuff, I'd say his play determines the fate of the team. For example, can you name the starting quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, who finished the 2014 season with a record of 2 wins and 14 losses? Possibly not. Now, can you name the starting QB for the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots? Bet you said, "Peyton Manning and Tom Brady." No brainer-right? Point made: Your team is as good as your QB.

Hundley was a disaster in OTA, if Blanchard out plays him wonder what MM/TT do ? Would love to see Blanchard on the PS this year.

Perhaps Hundley struggled because he and Ty Montgomery missed those early OTAs because of that rookie orientation by the league?

LOL no he struggled because he had the same issues at UCLA. He needs at least 3 years of coaching to be a usable QB in this system maybe more. His feet and mechanics are sick(

I have very little faith in Tolzien. He still has to prove he can play under pressure and not make stupid mistakes.

Agree totally and his decision making ability is at best poor.

If anyone besides #12 is behind center we are in deep podo( won't matter who the backup is.

Tolzien will be backup this year just because there is no one else. He is not a good QB. IMO he is the worst backup in the NFL. He struggles under pressure and has trouble reading a defense. Hundley will be on the team this year as TT won't cut a pick over a UDFA. So next year the Packers will expect Hundley to be the backup.

I thought Tolzien actually looked pretty good when Mike let him throw deep to intermediate. It's just those predictable short passes that killed him, like the one JPP called out in the defensive huddle before pick 6'ing it.

As for Hundley, I think he has the chance to be elite, but he's got a ways to go. Might need him in 3 years, hope he comes along.
