SF gets their franchise QB.

I had my doubts about Lynch when they signed him as GM, but he's made a lot of good moves.
 
AR is currently a bargain. AR signed his current contract in 2014 at 5 years $110m. At that time the salary cap went from $123m to $133m. The salary cap is projected top be $174m to $179m next year. The cap has been increasing 10 million per year the last 5 years. Too much is made of his cap hit. He is by far the most productive play maker on the team. At $30 million per year he will be a bargain again in 3 years. They can easily pay the man but they need to make smart deals with other players. You can't have contracts like Matthews, Nelson and Cobb hanging out there with players that aren't producing at the level they were when they signed the big deals.

Couldn't be said better. The money Rodgers gets must be distributed properly, so the Packers can retain good players that are needed to surround Rodgers. They also need to have the money to improve the defense, and hang on to good players on that side of the ball, that will make the defense much better. It's time to use the cap with the intent that the next four or five years is all we have left with Rodgers, and it's going to be a rebuilding program after that.

This off season is going to produce a lot of questions on return on investment from a lot of players, and what needs to be paid to upgrade those spots on the roster.
