I came away from a lot of incidents with a bloody lip, nose bleed, and black eyes, and swollen jaws from having to take the offenders down. This is not a "black issue," because quite a few of the people involved in these confrontations were Anglo, Hispanic, and Asian. It's a defensive trait of survival.
That said, there's never an excuse for trying to smack anyone, under any circumstances. Howard needs to be punished.
