The list is out! Four comp picks in 2018. They may help in depth, but might not be as much of an impact as we'd hope.

2018 Comp picks

In my calmer moments, this doesn't look too bad. The only loss that still lingers is Lang, and they got the max for him. Tretter was a backup here, albeit a starting-level center; Cook has apparently been adequately replaced; Lacy is a wild card - will he be like his first two or last two years?

The thing that actually caught my eye on that page was a link to "Patriots extend offer to LeGarrette Blound; bring in Christine Michael" - evidently, they'll retain the guy many thought was our Plan B and, in additional, may add a guy we cut immediately after bringing on three low draft choices. Sure hope something goes wrong with their moves.

If they are 5th-7th round picks will they mean much though.

Offer to blount was smart. Pats get a comp pick if he signs with someone else. If not they only have to pay him 10% above last year which is only a extra 100K since he signed a 1 year 1 million deal last year and if he plays for them could be a cheap goalline back. I can't see the Pats signing Michael though they have to many other backs. Maybe as a guy to workout to see if they want him on a list in case their is a injury.

It looks like we'd get a 3rd rounder for Lang.

will they get that though. Seems you always read these projections and when they are issued the Packers picks are always lower then what they projected them to be so I could see them ending up with a 4th for Lang.

over the cap is usually pretty accurate in their predictions of comp picks.

So if the Packers get 4 comp picks plus the 7th rounder from the Bills for the LB they traded and the 7 picks they would get normally they would go into the 2018 draft with 12 picks which means they would have around 15 or so when Ted is done trading back a couple times.
