I spent some time watching Jenkins out there last night. I was so happy to see how he was playing like the Pro Bowl player he is. He was moving people, and keeping people off Rodgers. It's almost like it was a catalyst for others across the line to do better. Outside of a few plays, the rest did fairly well, especially compared to next week. But, word of caution. The Bears defense isn't that difficult to play against. At least they haven't shown they are to this point.
Excellent running game. It's not going to be this easy against a top 50% team. Rodgers will have to be sharp. I was pleased with the guys we have catching the football. I think Watson and Doubs have a future. They're still learning, but I think they have the smarts to match up with their potential. Nice mix of receivers ahead of them. Once again, temper judgement. It was the Bears.
Our defense looked pretty good. There are going to be some weak points exploited during games. Expect it. Adjust to them. They did that fairly well. Quay Walker will be a good one. Justin Fields was not a test of the Packers ability to stop the pass. He just plain isn't any better than a lower 5 in the league QB. That's the Bears Achilles heel. They can't get a solid QB. If they do, the coaching staffs they hire destroy them.
O'Donnell is a huge factor for this team. He punts the living hell out of the ball, and his height is amazing. He's definitely going to be back there as long as I can keep him, if I'm the Packers. He's also a great holder. I watched him spin the ball last night, and it was perfect. The laces were always where they should be, and Crosby had no problem in the placement. At this point, I have nothing good or bad to say about our long snapper, except O'Donnell has no problem placing the ball for the kick. That's what matters.
Amari Rodgers is quick. But I don't see how he'll ever be more than a spot player, and possible return man. Depth at best.
I did like Rodgers pointing at LeFleur, and indicating that the one TD shovel pass was a great call by LeFleur. That was nice to see. I think they're more on the same page than most people think.
The jury is still out on both our offense and defense. They looked better than week #1, but need to be even better in week #3, and beyond.
