Cornerback Casey Hayward has had a couple of injuries to overcome in his short career, but he's confident the latest one - a stress fracture in his foot - is well behind him.
Hayward said Friday that after the season the medical staff decided surgery to insert a screw in his foot would help the fracture heal completely. It's the reason he didn't take part in OTAs and minicamp.
But he reported to training camp, passed his physical and has practiced with the past two days. The injury isn't quite all the way behind him because he still has some discomfort, but he said it's something he just needs to work through in camp.

Well, that didn’t take long.
The 2015 version of the Green Bay Packers put on pads in training camp for the first time Saturday, which meant it was the first chance for newcomers to make a truly meaningful impression.
The player who jumped out immediately was — drum roll, please — rookie Ty Montgomery.

Montgomery, the Packers’ third-round draft pick, was expected to make a contribution right away, but mostly as the kickoff return man on the beleaguered special teams. Since he stood at the tail end of a long line of veteran wide receivers and there were questions about his hands coming out of Stanford, not much was expected from him on offense
