Given these are the playoffs, with the poorer teams not participating, the number of complete blow-outs is disappointing. I know things will be more competitive in the coming rounds, but you kinda wonder if they aren't including too many teams in the playoff. Still, I know it's a great perk for the kids and coaches to get one more opportunity to compete together so I'm not calling for any changes.

In pretty much every other sport, every single team makes the post season, and early rounds are full of blow outs. I do have a feeling though that with the number of schools going to 8 man, and a growing discrepancy in enrollments there, that we will end up with 6 11 man divisions and 2 8 man divisions.. going from 224 teams to 192 teams in 11 man playoffs.. would mean fewer teams under .500 in conference make the playoff field. Most of the 1v8 and 2v7 games were blowouts, though I think there was one 1v8 game that was a 1 score game, and

So the challenge with going down though is trying to fairly evaluate teams across conferences. I personally thinking going down too much isn't a good idea. Across the 7 divisions, there were 7 6 seeds that won a first round game, and 6 7 seeds that won a first round game. I think that shows the challenge in seeding these playoffs, and that taking too many teams out isn't a good. And to be honest, 1 and 2 seeds to some degree have earned a relatively easy first round game. Our starters sat the entire 2nd half (I wish they would have the week before but that's another story for another time), and that's ok.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood - Central Wisconsin Conference. Kid is currently out with a broken foot.. played 3 weeks on it before we realised it and has been out the last 2 games. Tough watching a kid that loves football watch from the sidelines... He's hoping team can keep winning long enough for him to come back and play..
