Fortunately they have some time to work with Mertz, to prepare him and the team for his being under center. We're going to find out from the get-go if he has progressed, or is still a raw talent that needs a lot of work.

If Mertz had Q back at WR and JT in the backfield I wound be more comfortable, in know Captain Obvious there. But next man up. It would be nice to have a couple of layups the first 3 weeks but you also get right into conference play. As Chryst said the the plan was being adjusted anyway losing some key guys
