The Badgers' athletic commit injured his leg during an WIAA state track meet event.

UPDATE: Baun tweeted an update Saturday evening.

Wisconsin Badgers commit and Brown Deer, Wis., athlete Zack Baun started his weekend in the WIAA Division II state track meet in La Crosse on Friday with solid performances in the prelims.

After already medaling with third-place finishes in the WIAA Division II 100-meter dash and the 400 relay earlier Saturday, however, Baun sustained a leg injury while running the 200-meter dash.

Per reports at the meet, it appears to be a leg injury -- though whether it's a knee or hamstring injury as noted in the tweets above remains to be confirmed at this point.

Baun is a multi-sport standout for Brown Deer. As a quarterback, he was named WFCA Offensive Player of the Year in 2014 for football, while also leading the men's varsity basketball team to a 25-4 overall record. Baun committed to play football at Wisconsin and will begin his Badgers career as a linebacker.

We'll provide updates once the extent of the injury is confirmed.

That really stinks but it was hot and late afternoon when that heat was running. Hopefully it's just a hammy not a knee.
