Personal: Birthday is June 16 … son of Jodie and Hans Carlson … has two brothers, Nils and Daniel … brother Daniel was and All-America kicker at Auburn and is now with the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders … December, 2020, graduate of the College of Business' aviation program and graduated in May, 2022, with a master's in business administration

Carlson joined the Tigers in 2017 but redshirted that season as his brother, Daniel, finished his All-American career as the SEC's all-time leading scorer before heading to the NFL. Anders did a solid job taking over his sibling’s duties in 2018 (15-25-60%; two-of-nine from 50-plus yards, long 53 FGs; 44-44 XPs) and in 2019 (18-25-72%, long 52 FGs; 48-49-98% XPs). He had his best year in 2020, receiving second-team All-SEC honors after tying for second nationally with 20 field goals made and tying for ninth-best in the FBS with a 90.9 percent field-goal make rate (24-25-96% XPs). His 2021 season was not as productive (14-21-66.7%, two blocked FGs, long 49; 35-36-97.2% XPs) and ended when Carlson tore the ACL in his left knee (non-kicking leg) trying to recover an onside kick against Mississippi State. He made 12 of 17 field-goal attempts (70.6%) and all 22 extra-point tries in 2022. Carlson was the team's kickoff specialist most of his career, kicking 183 touchbacks on 314 attempts (58.3%). He was also a three-time Academic All-American and selected to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. -- by Chad Reuter

So just a camp guy who will have chance to win job from the other kicker on the roster.

Carlson 2020 was money 20 of 22 91% next 2 years struggled with his kicking and injuries as he was only 26 of 38 68% and suffered a ACL in 2021 and a season ending shoulder injury in 2022. Seems he's a guy GB is hoping gets healthy and can return to 2020 form.

Brian Gutekunst says Anders Carlson's battle through torn ACL and fractured shoulder explained shaky accuracy from distance. He won't shut door on Mason Crosby. That said, 6th-round pick on Carlson signifies intent for him to be their kicker.

aka won't shut the door unless the kickers in camp look like crap.

Ok this right here makes me love Carlson

His production might have dropped after his injury. Then he hurt his shoulder too. He was decent before that. Reportedly had a long lead up to his kicks which led to blocks. I donno.

Well this was a Rich pick. His brother kicked for the Raiders so he has most likely meet Carlson before and figures if he could work and fix any issues his brother had he can work and fix any issues he has.

Very possible that this is the replacement for Mason, but don't count on it. But, I'd guess he's going to at least offer about as tough of camp competition as anyone they could find, maybe better.

Mason is going to have to be consistently better, and longer than him in his kicks, or the extra cap money he'd get will make him expendable.

I think GB will go into TC with just Parker and Carlson as kickers. They will let these two battle for the job. Only way Crosby I think returns is if another team does not sign him and Parker and Carlson are so bad in TC that they have to bring Crosby back for another year.
