HAPPY NIL DAY

I'm going to throw a "what if" out here. Something to play with. Eventually it will happen, and it will end up being the face of the NIL, if they don't get a handle on it before it becomes an issue.

Johnny Football is a damned good QB. Probably the best in the nation. He's done his visits, and he has chosen Wisconsin, Notre Dame, or USC as his three potential landing spots. He's home, waiting to make his decision.

Meanwhile, Joe "Ford man" Johnson, down in a Southwestern state hears that this kid isn't considering his alma mater down there in the SEC! He knows the coach wants the kid, he's heard him say it. What's to stop old Joe from sending out feelers that get back to Johnny, and/or Johnny's Daddy, that there's a six-figure endorsement waiting for him down there if he attends a particular school so they can advertise their vehicles using his likeness?

Rest assured, for the vast majority of these 5-star, blue chippers, whatever you want to call them, the lure of money is going to end up being the deciding issue, and if the alumni gets into the picture - and they will, count on it - these kids will become hired mercenaries to play the game. Eventually, the old statement that "They have the best team money can buy!," will be what we hear from several areas of the country.

Just shooting from the hip. There are so many ways to slip money into these kids pockets when you open the door like they have.

If all depends on what state the kid is considering playing in. All states have restrictions and guardrails that either limit who can sign kids to a NIL deal and also must disclose the amount. That’s a school compliance thing. Florida as an example requires money to be put in escrow.

Reality is money has been hitting kids pockets for decades and that’s not stopping and NIL won’t increase or decrease that. Now what the hope is that fringe kids who should have applied for the draft now might stay.

It's going to happen I said before some 5 star kid will get a sponsor offer saying hey you choose this school we want you to be the face of our business.

Thing is that people are smart study the law and you can usually find a loophole around it.

if you are on scholarship you get a stipend, and that again has zero to do with NIL, thats an NCAA thing
Yeah but I am just thinking that the next push will be to get kids away from having to work and do sports so they can also have free time to do things and study that's why I think at some point there will be a push to pay for kids so they don't have to have jobs and give them more time.

and if they do, they either A) were not educated about NIL at the institution or B) dont understand that every athlete has the right to earn with NIL. Also if you are a scholarship athlete in any sport you get an NCAA stipend. Back to my point A. NIL, stipend and "play for pay" are 3 separate, distinct and different things. We are not talking society as a whole here, its not apples to apples
But we are also in a society today were kids in school don't believe in capitalism it's socalism were everyone deserves to get something no matter what. I don't agree with it but it's just part of the world we live in today. Yeah it is not part of the NIL but I think it's something the NCAA has to deal with at some point.

Unfortunately, the kids I'm running into believe in equity not equality of opportunity. I'm pretty sure that kids will be complaining. I'm not agreeing with it. But I'm pretty sure kids will be complaining.

Now take out kids and substitute in persons and you can apply that to anything nowadays. Another reason, I'm pretty sure the kids will be complaining.
You already have kids wanting it but right now the NIL was pushed more at some point in future this will be brought up more and be dealt with.

The NCAA? please they have done nothing to this point and if you think they will I have some beach front property in Fargo to sell you. Your painting a very broad brush on this.
