Post Game: Green Bay Skins Bears 35-14

It was a good win.

It looks like most of the injuries will be minor. (Although Williams could be season ending) As long as Adams is just a concussion, we really came out of the game fairly well. Some of our players came back and played later in the game.

This 10 day break should allow Bak, Bulaga, and Daniels to get back on the field. And those three are the biggest players that we need back for the Dallas and Minnesota games.

Randall needs to be talked to. He was pouting on the sidelines and left the sidelines before the game was over. (from what I heard) He is not getting it done. Glad they benched him. He needs a wake up call!

Here is to 3-1!

This is almost funny and also sad. I don't think it's something that you let a guy get away with but at the same token pro football is an extremely violent sport played by some men in split second situations.

It's easy as pie to sit behind a keyboard and be outraged by that hit. But until you have played at that level and or been involved at that level you can't understand how split second that was. I agree the whistle was slow and your taught to go until that whistle. If that's Green Bay and the runner keeps going the lot of you on shout are bitching and moaning "our defense sucks" "Tackle the guy" etc. I've seen all of you do it.

Point being yes it was a nasty hit and no you don't ever lower your helmet because it's a normally the guy making that hit who snaps his neck. Let them take his paycheck and I guarantee he won't do it again anytime soon. Money talks.

As for the game the Bears offense is awful. Green bay looks really good on both sides of the ball all things considered. If this team gets healthy then they are top 5.

My only thought on the hit is if you want to eliminate those types of hits, you need to suspend him. Guys have to quit lowering their helmets going into a pile. That hit could have injured Trevathan an easily as it did Adams. What happened to Heads Up? Did he intend to do it? I can't answer that but it was unnecessary and excessive and poor technique. The leading with the crown of the helmet issue isn't new. These guys know it's wrong but continue to do it. Small fines and 15 yard penalties will not correct it because that's whats been done for the last several years. Suspension may start driving home the point.

I will be surprised if he doesn't get a one game suspension.

I will agree with intent on that Adams hit. When you watch the video, you can plainly see him dip his head just before contact, and aiming right for Adams head. It doesnt get any more blatant that that as far as an intentional hit to cause injury. It wasnt a bang bang play like you see if the wr is going down as the defender comes in for the hit, drawing a flag. These hits shouldnt be disciplined the same as intent is not the same. He deserves a hefty fine and a game or 2 off.

yeah the more i look at it, the more i think that this was as egregious an example of what the nfl claims that they are trying to stop as any i've ever seen. i still can't believe the refs didn't toss trevathan from the game. except that the officiating crew was clearly sub-par. they blew the "holding" call on the previous play that was a td pass to adams. had they got that one right, the play that knocked adams out never would have happened. then that absurd non-call on the running into the kicker. and there were several bad calls that benefited the packers as well.

but really the refs should have blown the whistle much earlier on this play. there was no logical reason for trevathan to even have to try to tackle adams. the play should have been over. what makes me even madder is that i don't think the refs were even going to throw a flag on the play until they walked up and saw adams was out cold. just totally incompetent crew in my opinion.

if the nfl is serious about putting an end to this kind of garbage, they need to make a statement with the way they discipline trevathan. not just a fine. there was a rule change that gives them the ability to suspend trevathan even on a first offense, and i hope that they take full advantage of that.

Other than the cheapshot Adams took....
Aaron Jones looks to get his chance now. He seemed to have more quickness and could get around the corner. I like him going forward. Williams just seemed too deliberate. Mr. Hawkins also played well after replacing Randall. More aggressive and fought for the ball. Randall's body language after the Bear's TD was asking to be pulled from the game. He's got some soul searching to do. Ahmad Brooks wasn't spectacular, but he put in a pretty solid game and could be huge down the road spelling CMIII and Perry. Thought Vogel had a pretty good game also and there weren't any snap problems with out new and inexperienced LS.
This mini-bye is much needed and hopefully we see some healing done as we head into Dallas.
Wouldn't worry much about the Bears running the ball in the 4th quarter, the game was over and everyone just wanted to get out of it healthy.

Good win but a weird game.

Bad officiating! Ha Ha flagged early in the game very questionable. Second quarter knee injury to Williams on a late whistle. (My understanding, just a knee sprain, but he'll miss some time.) Refs with bad holding call on McCray taking away TD thereby allowing the Trevathan cheap, violent hit on Adams a couple plays later. Refs clearly not calling plays dead early enough. Refs not ejecting Trevathan. Refs flagging roughing the kickers at the end of the game on the Vogel punt but picking it up after Bears convinced them they tipped the punt. (That was kind of funny, they weren't even close! Why were the Bears attempting the block down 21 points with three minutes left in the game anyway?) Apparently this reffing crew did not not get the memo that the NFL is concerned about injuries.

MM with great game plan with the OL he had! Rodgers spot on. Great run D in stopping the Howard Cohen tandem. (Garbage time yards do NOT count!) I was surprised, I expected a closer game after watching the Bear's Chicago and Atlanta games. I'm a fan of Aaron Jones. Hope he gets the opportunity to gain NFL experience.

Randall needs some serious counselling. After being benched and pouting he leaves game during the Adam injury play to tunnel. Security ran and caught up to him and escorted him out. Not sure if he left on his own accord, or he was sent to the locker room because they grew tired of his pouting. Not a good look for him, I hope he gets it together.

Friends at game heard very little if any booing or locking of arms by fans during anthem. Any negativity or arm locking by fans we saw on TV were very isolated cases it seems.

A much needed 10 days before next game! Hopefully injury trend ends.

Randall's behavior was just weird. How do you come back from that? Guys in the locker room know when you're not performing, I assume, now you quit on the team?

With Monty out likely for a while with his rib injury wonder if Ted would consider trading with the Bengals for Hill who might be on the trading block. Offer a late round pick or Randall for him.

From ESPN:

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix's streak of consecutive plays on the field ended last night when he sat out the final eight snaps. He played every snap last season (1,236) and the first 228 snaps this season

Not just Trevathan, maybe make public that the officials are to blame a little, too. This could have been prevented several different ways.
