There’s truly no place like home, and that feeling apparently runs deep for new Wisconsin Badgers men’s hockey associate head coach Mark Strobel. On Tuesday afternoon the school announced Strobel’s hire as of July 1, 2017. His move to the Badgers bench is certain to raise a few eyebrows. After all, he basically held the same role with the Ohio State Buckeyes this past season.

I don't think this is a bad move. For Eric, it's coming home, to where he played his greatest hockey. He's one of the Badgers who picked up a gold medal in the 1980 Olympics, along with Mark Johnson. I don't think there's a better mandate for being someone to be listened to, on the ice. He's going to be an asset to a program that is honoring the future, and it's past, with coaching staff moves that represent that rich history.

So many of Bob Johnson's players back in the 70s have show coaching skills. He would be so proud of all of them. He was truly an honorable man.
