The Alliance?

Surprised about A&M being there, and not Texas.

It’s a lot about nothing. It’s not a merger , won’t impact any TV deals. At best it’s a few non conference games. Not sure what people are expecting here
Well, given the SEC keeps growing - these other power conferences are trying to do something to stop the pillage.

SEC is the 800 pound gorrila in the room other conf need to do somthing.

Scheduling a couple extra non conference games is not the answer. Unless this “Alliance” can significantly increase revenue is a waste of time

It’s not about conference expansion. This is about positioning for the next round of TV deals and try to have some scheduling advantage. And honestly there are maybe 5 B1G teams and 3 ACC teams that help. Does Arizona / Maryland excite anyone?

Well can't just sit around holding each other's junk have to try something to compete. Not going to get any quality schools to join either conf.

Compete how? This is all about scheduling, the CFP. The B1G TV contracts expire in 2023. The conferences want a bigger chunk of the money pool and they are afraid the SEC will try and renegotiate their TV deal they just signed prior to Texas and Oklahoma coming on board.

Well ESPN seems to be backing the AAC and SEC so what can the others do to fight for the piece of pie?

ESPN only picked up the Sat afternoon slot from CBS, not sure that ESPN is in bed with the ACC, if they were why get with the B1G? The AAC is irrelevant to this, just assuming you meant ACC
