I remember when Hintze came to the Badgers. He could kick the ball through the end zone. He became our "kick off specialist." The job of actually kicking FGs belonged to others. He was, as Chryst dubbed him, our "long field goal kicker."
Over his four years, he didn't have a try until last year. He missed that kick. The 62 yard bomb on Saturday was only his second try of his college career. But, wasn't it one helluva a kick? The longest in Badgers history. Second longest in Big 10 history, I believe? Also, the longest for any team during this 2019 season. He's in the record books, and now part of Wisconsin lore. He'll be remembered as, "That blonde head kid from Fond Du Lac, who kicked the living hell out of the football on day in Madison."
Making it so special is the fact that his Mom & Dad were there for Senior Day, and honored on the field with their Senior sons. They will have something to look back on as they grow older, and smile when they remember the day that their son Zach became part of Wisconsin's football history, on a special day, and the last game he'd ever play in Madison, as a Badger.
