Meet New Wisconsin FB Coach Luke Fickell

12 team playoff UW still needs to likely finish at worst 10-2 with trip to Big Ten Championship game I would think
Once USC & UCLA come aboard probably 11-1 is a more likely scenario

Also guessing there are bonuses in there for win X amount of games, win division, Big Ten, Bowl games
And there is a real possibility conference title games will go away. You’re adding a week of playoffs with 12 teams vs 4 and to be honest they don’t make a ton on money except the SEC. And Fox would gladly take 2 or 4 quarter final games as a replacement

"Sauce Gardner said he got a text from his old Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell last night saying that Sauce and a lot of other alums playing well in NFL right now is a big part of why he got [the Wisconsin job]," the New York Post Sports' Ryan Dunleavy tweeted on Nov. 30. "Sauce plans to visit Wisconsin soon."

I appreciate what Fickell is saying, but at the same time, I'm quite certain that he's going to pursue people that can fill needs, through the portal, while they develop young players. Reality is, you're looking to win, and you do it using both methods of getting players, to your advantage

How much will they use the portal? I think that's always going to be dependent on how much true talent they can find coming out of high school. The better that level, the less portal exploration.

He's saying the right things but if you really dig deep into those comments, it's much like you say above. Fick is thorough. Just like many other great leaders and HC's. He will do his due diligence for sure and he will attack when a certain need has to be addressed. He'll continue to recruit and develop but you can bet your arse, as Mark likes to say, that he will leave no stone unturned. I have no doubt about that.
