2025 NFL Season Thread

well, i guess there was zero chance of the packers getting ramsey. surprised he was available so long though. it must have been a tough negotiation to get all the details ironed out.
It would be like GB trading McKinney for Ramsey. Not sure how this necessarily makes Pitt better overall in the secondary, unless Minkah’s play has really fallen off to a degree i’m now aware of.

So $1.5 million raise for this year and then probably traded or cut after next year because he will do same thing again and bitch and moan about his pay. Ramsey does this every year unless he gets a new/adjusted deal. He's never happy with his contract even soon as he signs it.

Some guys like it this way, helps them maximize their money. Only works as long as you keep up the level of play. I think Ramsey is really good, still instinctive and physical. That said, he's 30. Pitt also signed Darius Slay who is 34. Joey Porter Jr is young still but now they subtracted a vet who is a little younger but really fits that D well. I'm just not sure how much they improved with the swap.

looking over minka's stats on pro football reference, it does look like his production has dropped over the past two years. only one interception and seven passes defended over the past 27 games. had an injury in 2023 that kept him sidelined for 7 games. pitt had moved him from free safety to strong safety in 2024. also looks like he has never really done much in the playoffs. maybe they just felt like it was time to move on. but looking at their roster, they only have four safeties, and one of them is a 24-year-old undrafted rookie. that seems a bit risky.

This will drive most Packer fans to lose their minds and say give up anything they want.
