Media:

Offense:

  • Jacob Monk taking the first reps at center in walkthrough. Don’t see Jenkins at first glance. Could be a vet rest day.
  • Jenkins just walked out and is not in pads today. So we’ll see if there’s an injury update.
  • MarShawn Lloyd has a helmet & gloves on today.
  • Starting lineup for team period: Love - Jacobs - Heath - Melton - Musgrave - Kraft - Morgan - Banks - Monk - Rhyan - Tom
  • Rhyan & Monk trading off at C in team. Bullard paired with Williams in the back end and Bo Melton at outside corner for Nixon.
  • End-around to Hardman, short gain
  • Jordan Love finds rookie Savion Williams for about 15 yards in front of Bo melton, middle of the field. Melton played the football, but Williams made a strong catch to come down with it.
  • Nice run inside by Chris Brooks - he’s looked really good.
  • Play action bootleg to Musgrave for a nice little pickup.
  • Packers doing some fun unbalanced line looks.
  • Abanikanda has some impressive burst inside. He looks like he’s ahead of the 2 udfas right now and I’d expect a good chunk of playing time Saturday against his former team. Anyone up for an Abanikanda revenge game?!
  • Willis overshoots Sims. Almost picked by Oladapo.
  • John Fitzpatrick over the middle for a good pick. My guy Deslin Alexandre getting around Brant Banks for a pressure.
  • Aaron Banks false start. Gets pulled out for Jennings.
  • Matthew Golden on a crosser in red zone for a touchdown. Bullard trailing on the play.
  • Holy throw and catch. Tucker Kraft is blanketed in coverage in the back of the end zone. Linebacker back turned. No opportunity for success. Love throws it right past the linebackers ear hole and Kraft makes an unreal 1 handed catch that I have no idea how he secured on a bullet throw. Ref said Kraft was out, it was close, I don’t care, that was f’n awesome.
  • Love is just tearing up the defense in red zone.
  • Love to Savion for a touchdown with tight coverage from Cooper.
  • Comes back the next play and guns one to Golden who means an unreal diving catch for the td.
  • Jordan Love speed option keeper for a rushing touchdown. Offense toying with them right now.
  • Sheppard drop in red zone for a would be td. Right through his hands.
  • Julian Hicks makes a play every day. Outstretched diving catch right at the pylon for a td. Great throw from Willis. Only place to put it.
  • These rookie wideouts can play. You could tell Gutey was surprised as anyone after Day 2 that they took two wide receivers, but they just couldn’t pass on the value of either one. Early returns say that was a very good decision.
  • Dontayvion Wicks seems down in the dumps today since he’s missing another practice with a calf injury. I say that because Romeo Doubs just walked up to Wicks with a big smile, gave him a hug and said he needs Wicks to smile.
  • What a throw from Jordan. Once again in the red zone finds Romeo Doubs on a fade. Doubs on a heater in camp - love on an insane heater today. Checked at the line by Love too.
  • Nice pass pro by Anthony Belton on Brenton Cox.
Defense:

  • Xavier McKinney also not practicing today.
  • Starting lineup for team period: Gary - Clark - Wyatt - LVN - Cooper - Quay - Simmons - Melton - Valentine - Williams - Bullard
  • Does not appear as if Keisean Nixon is doing team today.
  • Kalen King pass breakup on Amar Johnson with the 2’s in red zone.
  • Rashan Gary sack vs Jordan Morgan
  • Great coverage on the back end by the defense to force Love into either a checkdown or coverage sack. Depending on your interpretation.
  • Another great coverage rep by the defense. Coverage sack by Kenny.
  • Yes Nixon and Hobbs aren’t practicing in team but Bo Melton getting the full day as a starting cb with the ones is wild. Unreal how far he’s come in such a short period of time.
  • In red zone, Bullard breaks up a pass for Kraft in end zone.
  • Kalen King fantastic coverage and a pbu on Johnson down the field on a go route. Good ball from Malik. Better coverage from King.
  • Arron Mosby is doing team today.
  • Brenton Cox reads a screen play perfectly and almost picks it off one handed. Falls incomplete.
  • Corey Ballentine ends practice with an excellent jump on Malik Willis’ out route to Julian Hicks. Read it perfectly for the PBU. Good response after giving up touchdown against Romeo Doubs.
Special Teams:

  • McManus good from 33 and 44LH but then goes wide right from 47RH. He’s now 45 of 48 in camp.
  • McManus good from 45 and 49L before 52R goes wide left. Thats 47-51.

Duration: 1 hour, 23 minutes

Interviews:

  • Matt LaFleur
    • On whether team drills Malik Willis' sidearm throws: "No, not necessarily. It's kind of innate for a lot of quarterbacks, especially guys that are used to making off-schedule plays."
    • On Travis Glover going on IR: "He's an ascending player. It's very disappointing we won't have him."
    • Said Warren Brinson will be back at practice today.
    • On Jordan Morgan's performance in training camp: "Some good, and then some he's got to get better. I think you can say that about everybody. He's a young player, but he's getting a lot of exposure at [left tackle]. With that comes a lot of opportunity."
    • Said he’ll do his best to give all four QBs meaningful reps in Saturday’s preseason opener against the Jets. "I think it's good for all of our guys to kinda knock the rust off a little bit."
    • On Taylor Elgersma: "I think he's another guy that's flashed. He's got the arm talent. It's just the consistency. It's always hard for a guy — the majority of the reps are going to Jordan [Love] and Malik [Willis]."

interesting. so he's indicating that love will play in the first preseason game. i would have bet against that.

that brings him down to 92%. last year he made 95.2% of his field goal attempts in 11 games for the packers.
