Post Game Browns Beat Green Bay 13-10

Geez, yeah he’s what, 10-13 feet from the sideline? Rookie mistake, he showed a lot of awareness and body control in camp so they may just need to work this out with him through reps.
the only other thing i can think of is that he thought he needed to get out of bounds to stop the clock? situational awareness.

With regards to the o-line, are we sure some of this isn't a coaching problem (ie Luke Butkus or ... )?

They've used early picks, mid-round picks, and late picks. They signed a higher dollar FA and spent a draft pick on a veteran and they still aren't good. The best guy yesteday may have been Kinnard, who's had the lease exposure to the team's coaching.

I also question if it would make more sense to keep guys at one spot. For example, Kinnard is the first guy in if Tom goes down. Morgan goes in at either RG or LG. Belton is the back-up at LT. Might make for better continuity getting reps at one area all week/season. A big problem yesterday was picking up twists and stunts which seems like it depends on communication and guys knowing what each other is going to do. There were also apparently some technique issues - which might again point to coaching.

I have long questioned the Swiss Army Knife approach of the Pack to the Offensive Line.

You're correct, timing, footwork, and technique differ for each position and each side of the center. Therefore, I think we need specialists. Heck, a good part of the reason they get trucked backwards on roller skates could be because they are thinking to much rather acting and reacting.

I think probably your first two strings should be playing a specific position.

Use the Swiss Army Knife Approach on the rest.

This is a decidedly post-season issue but down the line, I think ML could use a new OC/OL group. Look how bringing in Hafley juiced up that side of the ball, I think it would help the team to get some new blood in the O group. IMO Steno is a fine coach but he’s better as an OL guy. They’re wasting their time now with Getsy in the room. Just all kind of stale.

Long ways away though.

Matt LaFleur on lesson from losing in Cleveland: "I've said it a lot to you guys, I'm not sure I've said it enough to our team, the goal is to go 1-0 every week. It pisses me off when we start talking about things outside the next game."

I think ML and Gute screwed this up royally thinking that Jenkins could.play Center. I think this is where the problems with the oline start. Meyers was average but seemed to be able to call protections and at least hold is own most of the time.

I think they need to stop moving guys around and put them at a spot they are comfortable with. This line is a mess.
