Another season, another bye week....

This one's a bit early, but what the hell, let's talk bye week blues.

Let's dive into the OL issues because the depth stinks! That group has been underwhelming, and if one position group lets us down in the stretch, it will be that one. The Browns traded for OL help last night... why aren't we?

Elsewhere on the offense, the OL has the run game sputtering a bit. Running the football would help tame the pass rush tremendously.

Unspecial teams.... I wish I had an answer. Switch coaches ..nothing.FP( The only thing I offer is to get Welch off of the damn PS and back on all the teams' units. I understand why RB didn't get fired...$ talks BS walks. Cool, but for the love of god, at least keep those pussy TE's off of FG and PAT... Jello blocks better than them.

Defensively, not having a disruptive Wyatt is a blow. Stack is a rotational guy...talked about it and now you see it. I think the glaring need is still Corner on this team. Without consistant pressure, they'll get torn up..man..zone doesn't matter.

The rest is what it is, but Gute has to get better OL talent at 6-7-8, and if he can snif a corner, great. F the draft, it's toast anyway...go use those picks and help this team NOW.

So those are my bye week thoughts. It's way too damn early for any grades on players or coaching. Go ahead throw them in here and let's have a few rounds br)drunk

My bye week musing is that, for the first time in 10 or 11 years, GB actually has a QB, WRs, RB and TE capable of running lots of 11 personnel. This OL wouldn’t really hold up and Love would get sacked more, but I think he’d also throw 40TDs. If ML and Sean McVey swapped places for a month, I think that’s what you’d see and I think they’d be explosive as hell.

I don’t know if it’s what they SHOULD do, but I think they COULD.

If this teams OL was just average give him like 4 seconds to go through all his reads make a throw and just be decent run blocking this team could put up 30+ every game.

i don't think any ol provides a consistent 4 seconds. maybe every once in a while. but two seconds is clearly not enough. i seem to remember an article that made a big deal about rodgers' release time being somewhere around 2.3 seconds on some plays. but according to next gen stats in 2016, his average release time from snap to throw was 2.65 seconds. i think the ol realistically needs to give the love an average of 3 to 3.5 seconds to be effective.

Additional bye week musings:

They still need to build game plans around this guy, they still need to build "must have it" plays around him. It's criminal at this point not to.

yeah, i distinctly recall ml saying that he needs to get kraft more involved in the game plan and that he deserves more opportunities. that was after the loss to cleveland i believe. i didn't really notice any improvement in that regard against the cowturds. hopefully, after the bye we will see some of that. or maybe he was talking about next year?

Hard to do that when Musgrave could not block a plastic bag in the wind. Our OL is poor and Kraft is needed to much as a extra blocker which prevents ML from using him a a legit threat at TE. If Kraft did not have to spend so much time blocking he would be in talks for the best TE in the NFL.

I was hoping we were going to get a modern Chewey - Keith Jackson threat with Kraft and Musgrave, but alas, our coach talks more than walks

are fitzpatrick or sims better at blocking than musgrave? if so, have a package with kraft and one of them in the game. sometimes you might keep both of them in to block. other times you send kraft out on a pass route but still have an extra blocker in. this doesn't have to be used every play. you can still give musgrave his reps. i'd just like to see a little more creativity by ml to get kraft more touches.
