Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

I don't want to overcomplicate things or overgeneralize. But I do think that if your QB is on the sideline and a defender comes over and shoves his face into the dirt, someone on your team better show up and defend him. That's the rules in hockey - if someone wants to give your star player a knuckle sandwich thats fine, but you better be willing to pay the price. Two weeks in a row defenders took pot shots at out QB with no response. They lost both games anyway, so what if someone gets ejected for defending the QB after the whistle?

People were fond of saying "something is off" in the locker room when Rodgers was the QB. No one was ever specific, which drove me nuts. Well I will say again now, something is off and I'll try to be specific. I think they show a ton of determination and grit, they've never given up, they have each other's back in words. I think there's something selfish to the way they play though. Plenty of guys will take fouls defending themselves, no one willing to take one on behalf of a teammate.

So RP - and others. Yes, I come off as a knuckle dragging neanderthal. Yes, when I played hockey my teammates and I would have went after a cheap shot opponent. When I played rugby, it would not have been immediate and would have been a we'll get that bastard later.

But, here is what also would have happened regardless of getting the guy. A renewed amped up focus and attitude to do your job and get the win for your fallen teammate. I could live without the immediate fight, if the players banded together with a 1 for all and all for 1 attitude - renewed and amped up their focus and attitude and did their job. Had they done that, we beat the Bears - and other teams. But, they don't.

So, I agree with RP. I don't understand how they see a teammate go down - even on a legal hit - and don't renew and amp up their focus to win won for their fallen teammate. I don't get it. I think, RP is right. Something is off - not with everyone, but with enough of them to affect games.

I think we have some great to good players who care and are trying to elevate their teammates - at least it appears so, but wow, their teammates just don't step up. I've heard Parsons talking up Van Ness and Gary, but they don't do anything. I've heard Love talking up the receivers - but, some just don't respond. I've heard Kraft talking it up and trying to inspire. Even Jacobs has tried. Unfortunately, now those 3 are gone, but I just don't get that others aren't stepping up for their teammates. Could it be jealousy over Love and Parsons deals? Could Musgrave just be a whiny mental midget because Kraft stole the glory that he thinks should have been his. Are the offensive line even weaker than I believe and just whining because of all their bad press? It's not making sense. yes, there are better players, but these guys are good enough, if they do their damn job with some intensity. Something is off

IMO it's the OL. I dont know anything about Banks but if I recall all the other guys had a reputation of some kind or another of not being the hardest workers or toughest mentally. I don't see a lot of camaraderie from that group, do you? They seem like they're there trying to do their individual part but not playing as one. Maybe just my fancy.

signing a qb should have already been done yesterday if they planned on doing it. signing one on friday would be pointless. it looks like gute has written off the season already.
