I invite you all to join me on the annual USMC Reserves Toys For Tots Toy Drive in Pacific Beach on December 16:

El Prez (Packers Bar) 10-10:45am
The Local (Bills Bar) 10:45am-11:30am
PB Ale House (Sports Bar) 11:30am-noon
710 Club (Bears Bar, Yes, drat, and more obscene words) - 12 -1pm
The Open Bar (Beach Bar Possibly Bikinis) 1-2pm
The Tavern (Sports Bar) 2-2:45pm
Bub's Dive Bar (Steelers Bar) 2:45-3:30pm
Latitude 32 (Redskins - I know they play in the morning) 3:30-4:15pm
The Silver Fox (Hockey Bar) 4:15-5pm
The Comber (OMBAC Rugby Bar-Siers Brothers Playing) 5:00-6pm
Campland Cantina (Sports Bar) 6pm -

All times 'ish

If you can't make it, please pop a toy in a Toys for Tots box or make a donation where ever you are and enjoy the warm fuzzy on Christmas Morning.

On the 16th please toast one my way, especially when I'm with those horrible people from the south (unfortunately the biggest supporters of the toy drive).

Already donated Toys for this program at my local drop off. Always do this every year for this.

When I was a cop, I was involved in this program. We did it through our County Jail. We had the trustee prisoners work on repair toys in a quonset hut. They repaired over 1,000 toys this one year. For their work effort each day, they were treated to McDonalds or Pizza Hut food.

In addition to the toys, we put together food packages for the holidays and beyond. We also gathered gently used clothes, and new clothes donated, to give children what they needed. It was unbelievable how people reached out through our program.

On a day off, I went out delivering Christmas cheer. My wife went with me. It was such an overwhelming experience. I still get tears in my eyes even though that was over 40 years ago. I never felt the Christmas spirit before then like I did that year, and from there on in.

Several cities I know will do shop with a cop were they get like $100-$200 to go get gifts for their families.
