Interesting read https://www.forbes.com/sites/robrei...en-remarkabky-average-in-year-1/#73eceb736a67

During his first year as Green Bay’s general manager, Ron Wolf traded for Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre.
In Ted Thompson’s rookie season as Packers’ G.M., he drafted probable Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Pro Bowl safety Nick Collins.
Things haven’t gone quite as well in Brian Gutekunst’s first 12 months on the job.
Gutekunst, who was named Green Bay’s GM on Jan. 8, hasn’t been terrible, mind you. But he hasn't excelled either.
And coming off a 7-9 season in 2017 with an unexceptional roster, the Packers needed brilliance from Gutekunst — not mediocrity. Instead, Gutekunst has been extremely average, which is one reason the Packers are 6-8-1 and guaranteed a second straight losing season for the first time in 27 years.

Here’s a look at how Gutekunst has fared in the various categories of roster building in his first year:

Read the rest at the linked story. Gute hasn't really bowled me over at all, granted Murphy has him ham strung but I see a lot of TT style in BG.

We calling it on Gute after 1 year? That's what we're doing these days? Good grief.

To be fair, Ron Wolf’s first draft pick as Packer GM was Terrell Buckley who didn’t exactly set the world on fire.
Let’s see what Gute does with his draft capital he has this year.

The final grade of C is about right. Hard to judge his draft at all after 1 year but I graded him down for not staying put and drafting a true difference maker at safety. Just me though.

I wanted Leighton Vander Esch.
He was a gift to Dallas!

Jury is still out on Gute for sure. Haven’t been impressed though. The jimmy G signing was a huge miss.

No No .... don't start that. He simply said his first year was average and that he needed to be better going forward no one is calling anything. Packer fans need to learn about constructive criticism rather then the clamoring of green and gold glasses blindly following anything Packer regardless of the outcome. It's why TT/MM were here 3 yrs too long.

Yes it was.
And so was LVE.
LVE and Martinez in the middle would have solved that issue long term.
Cowboys I think run a base 4-3 I don't think Vander Esch was a fit in GB.
