Rodgers Wants Out

I have felt that this is more of a media storm.

Today Schefter said he broke the story on his own - after having it for 2 weeks. I call Bull on that. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...aaron-rodgers-story/ar-BB1gqzIJ?ocid=msedgdhp

Packers Wrongs:

1) Drafting Love without telling Rodgers and, yes, selling him on it - regardless of position and trading up.
2) Cutting players who are Rodgers friends or who he is comfortable with without discussing it with him.

Rodgers Wrongs:

1) He thinks he's the smartest guy in the room at all times.

KegMan's Thoughts:

1) Rodgers has earned to at least have discussions about the team and where it's going. I think it's incredibly wrong not to include the franchise QB, who is not just a franchise QB but a 3 time MVP and Superbowl winning franchise QB (they're are many franchise QBs who are not as successful), in discussions. I'm not saying you do what he says, but you listen to his thoughts, tell him yours, probably table the discussion for thought, and tell him which way you're going to go. It's not caving to a prima donna, it's doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do.

2) Kumerov and to some extent Nelson. See # 1 above. Rodgers liked Kumerov and Nelson because they ran the correct routes, they knew his subtle signals, they knew what to do during scrambles. When he had big mean people chasing him and trying to rip his head off, he knew were they'd be. Not including Adams, at the start of last year, our other receivers who are bigger, stronger, faster than Kumerov weren't doing anything close to what Rodgers was trying to get them to do. I believe they all got a lot better last year. Back to # 1, a good GM (and/or coach) would have went to their star and told him why they were letting the guy who might appear a little better at the little things at the moment go because of the upside of the younger guys - and would have been able to sell it.

3) Shoot, again I'll say it, he wants all in from the Pack. All in is not drafting receivers; it's drafting to make the Pack better. This year's draft I believe was all in. Lots of very intriguing players. Last year's not so much - it didn't address or try to address immediate holes, it tried to find plugs for future holes. Imagine how that would be if you're trying to win a championship now and your team keeps preparing for 3 years down the road.

4) This isn't about drafting Love as a potential replacement. It's using 2 draft picks to draft Love instead of using 2 draft picks to try and fill holes and better the team now. See # 3.

5) There's going to be a lot of sad Packers fans. I think the reason is the Packers Front Office - or possibly the Janitor - not doing their job in communicating with an all time great QB who we were lucky to be able to draft and who wants to play in Green Bay. This could have been solved so simply. It still could be solved. But, somebody always has to be the bigger man - in this case, I think it should be the Front Office. However, I doubt it will happen, and if Jordon ❤ isn't the next coming, the Front Office's heads will be on pikes.

I am surprised, however, that neither Greg Jennings or Jermichael Finley provided their 2-cents-worth; unless I missed it.
Their 2 pennies ran out long ago

I was just going to post about this! There's undoubtedly some leadership going on coaching current team that it's in your best interest to "sit back, stay out, enjoy your popcorn, and see where this ends" for the reasons GBP4EVER states.

It’s always been a very isolated organization, remember Rob Davis? Circling the wagons starts at the top. That’s not changing anytime soon if ever

Anyone watch Pat McAfee today? Very interesting. Seems Dan Patrick interviewed Schefter and Schefter basically admitted that his draft day bombshell didn't come from a source per se. Said it was an accumulation of what he has been hearing over the past few months. He just decided to run with the story now. Dan Patrick was even perplexed by it. I said it once, and I'll say it again, Schefter is shady, imo. You can see it on any program he is on. There was a time where Josina, on ESPN, scooped him with an inside source and Schefter was visually pissed. This draft day bombshell was another shot at trying to act like he had a breaking story.

We may not even be getting the right story about any of this.
May be true, but neither Rodgers nor the team has disputed it in substance. That said, it's possible the media has the final intention wrong if not the substance of his issues with the team.

While I get want your saying the fact of the matter and this team went 26-6 over the last 2 years and 2 NFCCG and the reason they did not take the next leap was about defense and also lands on 12’s shoulders for not producing at key moments especially last year. That’s what elite $25m QB’s do. He can advocate all he wants but wanting Kumerow is actually laughable.

They both may want to make sure that their next move isn't undone by a knee jerk reaction. They may be in communication but not communicating with the rest of the world. Who knows. I do know that this is a society that loves to have drama swirling about and maybe, just maybe, both sides are handling business behind closed doors. Just playing devil's advocate. At this point, I don't know what to believe!

Sheffy also admitted on a Twitter thread that he confirmed with sources the info prior to running with the story. So I guess believe what you want but the organization and Rodgers have made statements that have confirmed much of the story and no denials

Regardless, it's good advice. "Anything can and will be held against you...", especially in this day and age of digital media that neither forgives nor forgets.

I blame the granola guy MM hired it's clear this all started because of him.

So Mahomes sits one year becomes MVP the next. Lamar Jackson sits for a year becomes MVP the next, Jordan Love sits for a year and.......
