2021 Badgers Football Thread

Well he’s from Clemson. Allen i seriously doubt will play RB, he’s more Valuable on defense.
Ah yeah my mistake though I agree Allen better as a S/LB then a RB but heard that he will get to try his hand at RB after he had a good senior year at FDL playing RB.

That was about camp depth, doubt it was serious consideration. Guerendo & Messuli will be RB2 & RB3

Yeah I just wonder if they told him they would give him a chance to get snaps at RB in spring to make him happy

Doubtful, Messuli did not commit at that time and all the other RB's were held out of spring practice.

I'm anxious to see how well the OL holds up in game #1. Penn State is replacing essentially all their starters up front on defense, and that could work to our advantage. It could give the less experienced Badgers OL a little breathing room early in the game, to get their assignments straight.

Kendrick Pryor ran a 4.37 40. Wow! That's one fast dude! He should end up being a field stretcher if the Badgers OL can give Mertz time in the pocket.

Speaking of Mertz, a friend of a friend who has a friend told me that he was watching Mertz throw the ball this year and he's exactly what the doctor ordered for a run oriented offense that will air it out too, if defenses think they can play up to stop the run. He said he's not only sharp in his throws, but his footwork is great!

I know this sound like a homer, but in all honesty, I believe Jim Leonhard is one of the best DCs in college football. He has a lot of talented players, some well selected assistants, and an understanding of the game that will get the best out of these guys that can be had. I think they could end up a top 5-10 defensive team in college ball this year.

I know this is a stretch, but if the Badgers can get through the first 3, including PSU and Notre Dame, I think they could make it all the way to the Big 10 Championship game against none other than OSU. I'll reserve judgement on that until I see both teams play at least half the season.

Just my opinion. Paul Chryst's plan for 2021? Dominate on defense, control the game with a running game, and burn defenses with precision passing if they play up to stop the run.

Guess we will have to see regular season if he gets carries my guess if he does it's in a blowout at end of game.

I think last year with all going on Mertz got overwhelmed him. Hopefully normal year he settles down and can be the QB people think he can.

I think UW can go 10-2 which I think would win the West.

The Illinois game was an outlier and then the Covid break. He also played with a true frosh WR & and Walk on at WR. Not ideal
