Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

Mixed feelings on bringing back JA. Yes, they need the CB help because they foolishly ignored it in the draft. BUT, how the hell does he help you if he's once again playing less than half the games. If they don't get his CAP number cut almost in half it's a mistake to bring him back.

I said before best choice is a deal were Alexander takes a paycut but his deal voids after the season making him a FA. He makes more this way then just getting cut and signing a 1 year prove it deal with another team. He has a good year he can get paid in FA then. GB wins as they save money if he takes a paycut and keeps a good CB if he stays healthy. There is risk for both sides but I think it's a risk worth taking for both sides.

I think the team is floating that they're willing to keep him because they haven't been able to find a taker otherwise.

I think that's a major factor but it may be working both ways. I was listensing to a podcast that said that JA's agent had been in discussions with a team as part of facilitating a trade but the team was unwilling to do a deal without a redone contract. Don't know how true that is, but I suspect both sides are finding there is no way to "win" right now and that a compromise might make sense for both parties.
