With Pick 2 in the 2025 Draft GB Selects North Carolina State OT Anthony Belton

That's Clemson tape... Sammy Brown, who played HS FB here and I know well starts at LB for them. I text him last night about our 2nd round pick....Sammy's answer was>>>> Good luck LOL.
Sammy was right... what an awful pick by Gute. Better players on the board that we really could use right now.

They don't trust him on the field in a 6 OL package, what's left to say. The only thing more concerning is that they don't seem to be repping him or training him inside at G at all, he's backup LT only.

There's just got to be some sort of internal review and accountability with their OL process here. It's just been miss after miss after miss. Obviously the buck stops with Gute, but what is he seeing? Who is writing these reports? Who is going to bat for Anthony Belton, or Josh Myers, or Jordan Morgan? Who ranked these guys? Whatever the process is that allowed that to happen needs scrutiny. And if it's just Gute going with his gut or whatever, that's a problem.

Scouting at play here and pro personal in terms of those bad FA signings. I think if anything, it would behoove them to clean all that up and get MLF a front office that gives him the pieces that he needs. It's a mess and not just the OL either.

GB's scouting Dept has been a mess for 15 years now. Ever since SB XLV the scouting dept got raided and GB never replaced the talent.

I would axe Matt Malaspina and Jon Eric-Sullivan, I was hoping the Titans would take Sullivan off our hands but even they're not that stupid.

There's just some philosophy here that isn't working. Lack of cohesion with the coaching staff and team needs.

I was so happy when we drafted an Offensive Lineman.

Then that bastard Mark called up his buddy from Clemson who gave him the real low down which he shared with us and has unfortunately turned out to be true.

What the hell is wrong with our scouting team?

(FYI: Bastard means wonderfully bright and fantastic guy in Keg World)

I hate to be right, I have no idea why you even considered this guy in the 2nd as he had a ton of red flags.FP( To be brutally honest, I don't think we have been drafting to fit the scheme for years, but at least with TT, his picks made some sense. The only guy they took in the past 3 that fit has been Kraft. sh))

I didn't know him or of him. I was only happy because it was an offensive lineman and I incorrectly thought we knew what we were doing and getting a big nasty road grader. I mean what else would you draft on the offensive line?

Regarding that - starting my usual rant about us drafting some guy who played a different line position in college to play somewhere else on the line for us and the swiss army knife lineman.

As we can see, we have guys that can't perform their jobs. They might be good backups. But, we have a room of them. Instead of a couple of strings of guys who are good or great at their position. We have a room of guys who are marginally serviceable - can tie or get their shoes tied and walk onto the field.

Maxell Harriston would have been the best guy to take IMO in round 1. Golden was taken to make the crowd happy in GB nothing more. Round 2 no doubt Amos should have been pick over Belton. 3rd round then instead of another WR that is then when you can take your OT.
