#illini Bret Bielema said Jim Leonhard is still on his staff. Leonhard has an opportunity to come back to Illinois if he doesn't get a job he wants elsewhere. Bielema said he wants a job "not in college," so likely the NFL.

One last post here with an old name.....

I think Leonhards chance at being a NFL DC has passed. He turned down the Packers offer and he also took name out of running last year for the Philly DC job. Teams won't want to be jerked around. I think he wants a NFL job now he will have to take a position coach and I think he would not do that as in his eyes it's a step down for him.

It is interesting to see some good young coaches jumping ship out of the NCAA and trying to get into the pros.
