2023 Badger Football Thread

It’s average but have to put it in perspective. QB play was inconsistent at best, not sure Engram was that creative in his concepts and TE play was non existent. Dike has speed and Lewis and Bell have shown some flashes. What’s missing is depth based on what Longo wants to do
What we have isn't meant for an Air Raid passing attack... by my count we need 3 more WR

That’s seems about right. I honestly was not sure how much depth they would need.

I'm assuming that the need of 3 WRs is based on Dike probably being the only one who is really good enough to be a factor? I'd agree with that.

Bell and Lewis have upside. As I mentioned before, QB play and passing game concepts left alot to be desired. How much that impacted their numbers who knows. Right now the need is depth also since past those 3 there is nothing

The Wisconsin football program officially announced the hiring of three more assistants Friday as Luke Fickell's staff becomes clearer.

Mike Brown has been named associate head coach in addition to his role as wide receivers coach, while Gino Guidugli will coach tight ends and coordinate the passing attack. Both coached with Fickell at Cincinnati.

Jack Bicknell Jr., a 35-year coaching veteran, will coach the offensive line.

BREAKING: Former Cincinnati offensive lineman Joe Huber commits to Wisconsin

In 2022, Huber earned a stellar Pro Football Focus Grade of 80.6, including an 83.7 run blocking grade en route to being named honorable mention All-AAC. In 471 pass blocking snaps, Huber allowed four sacks.

So what does UW have say for 2024 for RB? What happens if Allen does decide to leave either pro or transfer after 2023?

A little premature, but a valid concern. It's at least somewhat likely Allen is gone for '24. If he does leave, it would be 4 guys gone from the RB room for '24. The '23 kid from Milwaukee. Nate White, seems like a good fit and could be part of the answer, but the staff is still recruiting and with this new group I am confident they will pull a couple more recruits for '23/24 and at least one solid RB from the portal.
