2023 Badger Football Thread

Heck of a gut check win today by UW, a lot to build on. They didn't give up..kept fighting. Young QB took a step.... next week maybe rough but this week we had a glimpse of things to come. One week at a time Badger fans.
Yeah great win today. But next week yeah it's going to be ugly.

Even though Illinois is not really a good team, the growth we saw in Locke as the game progressed is something to build on. I think he keeps the job through the end of the year. Hopefully, getting the snot beat out of them next week by Ohio State won't have people believing they suck. OSU is just that much better than anyone else in the Big 10.

Badgers likely get stomped by OSU. Then should beat Indiana and NW. Nebraska and MN are toss ups so lets say 8-4 finish maybe 7-5?

about right......nice bowl game at the end of the year...bring in another recruiting class and some transfers and keep building

24-10 is much better than the last two blowout losses to OSU, defense played well enough to win. UW is decimated with injuries on offense... enough in the tank to get 2 more wins and a nice bowl invite.

Badgers should be able to win next 2 vs Indiana and NW.

Agreed. They didn't lose their poise out there. They were beaten because of early mistakes, and then the loss of Allen didn't help. The defense was pretty darned good. As for the offense, OSU gives up 10 points a game on average. Had Allen been out there when he was needed during the second half, we could have scored at least another TD, and it might have kept our defense even fresher, and they may have made it a last drive game, with a chance to win.

I think they might be just a quarter step ahead of schedule. I predicted 8 wins at the beginning of the season, I still see it possible, and probable. A nice bowl game added to their schedule would make the year successful.

I keep thinking about all the good things I see Locke doing, and think about how he's progressing, and the fact that next year, he's going to have some stiff competition, as Mettauer comes in, and Evers improves. My big hope is that they found a couple of RBs who can step up, and be solid in this offense. We're going to need them.

On defense, if they can find guys to pair off with Wohler and Hallman, at safety and CB, they are going to be pass killers. Those two are out of this world.

There may be some interesting people leaving via the portal and coming in the same way. That's going to be the way of the future, whether we like it or not.

I was at the game, defense was flying around. Losing Allen helped Ohio State pin back and rush, if Allen in there we get another score or 2 and it's a tight game. Wisconsin desperately needs RB and WR next year.
