2023 Badger Football Thread

I think with Allen getting hurt this year, he doesn't want to risk one more season in college. As it is, you can see he's still not 100% as he doesn't have the burst of speed back that he had prior to the injury.
I don't think he has anything to gain by going to a school that runs more. He has already proven that he's one of the top RB in college football; he's #75 in the Bleacher Report in overall draft rankings, and the #3 RB.
he's too slow speed-wise for the NFL.... he MIGHT be okay as an H-back type player. Don't be shocked if he goes round 4/5.

Agree with this. Look at today's NFL RB are devalued. Teams use 2-3 backs now and no real bell cow back. So they think they can find a RB to fill that roll now on day 3.

He'll be fine. If he gets drafted, he'll make a team and find a niche. He probably won't make insane money, but he'll probably have a good career and make a ton

I've always thought about how Ron Dayne pretty much failed in the NFL, but like you said, made a ton of money doing it.

Probably going to be somewhat similar with Allen. He's not going to get burnt financially.

Braelon Allen was likely not going to improve his stock much playing another year, and could hurt his draft stock with an injury. He is who he is at this point - a big powerful back with limited shiftiness and speed. I think Rd 3 is his draft ceiling and that may require him to test well at pro-days and/or the combine. I'm thinking Rd 4 is the most likely landing spot for him.

Was recruited by Longo at one point..... might be a target
If they do grab someone via the portal, I hope they're an exceptional QB, because we have a few guys who will be with the Badgers next year, vying for a spot on the field. I don't want to see mass exodus via the portal of all the Texas QBs they have. If it happens, recruiting will take a major hit down here.

I think if UW brings in a QB from portal a couple QBs will leave the team.
