2024-25 Milwaukee Bucks Season Thread

and if they trade away Giannis for lesser value, like Dallas did with Luka (although the NBA fixed them to get #1) - Bucks fans will be even more irate than the Mavs fans were after the Luka trade.
Yeah and if Bucks trade away Giannis and even get a future lottery pick back you know there is zero chance they will get the draft lottery rigged for them to get the number one pick unless the draft is awful with no real blue chip players then of course NBA would give MKE the #1 pick.

Milwaukee F'ed itself.

NBA isn't my favorite, but I appreciate their talent and like the playoffs. Sucks watching Ex-Bucks contributing on other playoff teams.

I think they really believed that Lillard would bring them the scoring threat on the outside that would free up Giannis in the paint - that it was worth losing Jrue to get that. But Lillard has been inconsistent and nowhere near as productive as he was in Portland, and often injured - and as a result he wasn't able to get the Bucks another shot at a championship. And I understand all the "speculation" because right now, Giannis is the only asset that the Bucks have that is worth anything. Nothing left to trade to build around him - so if he still wants to stay, they need a plan.

Only thing they can really say is we don't have draft picks and only thing we can do is over next couple years let guys contracts go so we clear up cap space so in a couple years we can go into FA and buy a big name FA. Is he willing to wait and go along with that would be the question.

Wow CBS Sports did this trade the Bucks gets serious screwed in this trade

Trade 2: Giannis to the Spurs

  • Bucks get: Stephon Castle, Harrison Barnes, Keldon Johnson, 2025 No. 2 overall pick, most favorable of Milwaukee and New Orleans' first-round pick in 2026
  • Pelicans get: No. 14 pick, Atlanta's unprotected 2027 first-round pick
  • Spurs get: Giannis Antetokounmpo

If the Bucks trade Giannis, I think it should be for draft picks - not players. The last thing the Bucks need now is a bunch of toss away guys.

Thing is because of bucks being 2nd apron they have to match salaries to trade Giannis so they will have to take players back. Though you figure a couple will likely be overpaid bad deals just to get the money to match.

which is why any trade right now brings very little value to the Bucks. AD / Luka was one sided, but nowhere near as one-sided as some of these speculative trades. This isn't Billy ball where 2 really good players are better than 1 great player - the NBA rewards the great players with stats that can't be replaced by 2 good players.
