Not just saying that because it's my opinion; but yes, they make sure they make the best players "greater" :).
I was on a flight a few years ago, and I had a college hoops official sitting next to me. we had a good conversation, but something he said stood out; some of his colleagues who moved on from college to pro, talked to him about the pre-game prep for NBA officials. They are briefed about the star players in the upcoming game, and "how they like to be officiated". The goal is to maximize the stats of the star players, because that means more money for everyone involved with the NBA; and that "fans don't want to see the star players foul out, so they do everything they can to not call fouls on them."

yeah, that does not surprise me at all. i think it is fairly obvious actually.

LeBron James must have his ass kissed several times a game. If he flops it's considered attempted murder against him and 2 Tech's must be given to the other team.

The flopping in the NBA is now pretty much standard by all players. I'm seeing big power forwards that are brushed by little guards look like a train hit them. It's ridiculous - and maybe the refs are told to call it, but to me it seems like the refs just aren't bright enough to understand the flopping.

Giannis to Spurs for Harrison Barnes (last year of deal), Devin Vassell (24 year old player), Stephon Castle (rookie of the year)

Picks 2025 1st (#2 and #14), 2026 2nds (via NOLA and Utah), 2027 1st via ATL, 2028 2nds (via NOLA and MN), 2029 1st via Spurs and 2029 2nd via NOLA, 2031 1st via Spurs

Get 5 1st and 5 2nd rounders back.
