He was never going to start at UW so might as well leave for a place to get to play at. Also UW needs to hit the portal hard itself to try to get better talent in.
 
A little surprised about LaCrue, only because he really had no ties to Longo. Seems like he would wait to see who the new OC will be. On the other had, both B.Locke and his brother (a '25 recruit) plus Mettauer have strong ties to Longo so I would not be surprised to see all 3 of them bail. If that happens, boy they are going to have to hit the portal hard at QB and maybe hope to bring back Van Dyke after a medical red-shirt. It could be a wild ride over the next couple of months.

Losing Locke IMO no big deal. I wold like to keep Mettauer but he goes he goes. I think me maybe see's if he gets a chance to start next year or if UW brings in a portal guy to start. That happens yeah can see him leave then.

Yes, it's a big deal, You were all over Mertz ass and wanted him to leave because according to you he sucked. He goes to the SEC and throws for 3694 and 26 td? Yeah he really sucked vs better teams....
 
I could never figure out how Mertz went from his great 1st game to the rest of his WI career. A lot had to be coaching and using his skills. Too bad he got hurt this year.

I don't know about Locke. But, I do know we don't have much in QBs.

Whatever happens next year, I hope it's a wide open competition, and not given to someone because they have  experience. We don't have any QBs with good experience.

Locke is not even a backup quality QB we have seen it he can go
 
Being rurmored that Carter Smith will pick WI over FSU and FSU has already moved on and flipped a 4 star QB from OU to them.

If Badgers land Smith then I can see Mettauer enter the portal

Yacamelli hasn't played in our last 3 losses.

OK, he wasn't all world and wouldn't beat out the 2 guys in front of him for the major player. BUT, he seemed to produce. I find it odd that a guy who - maybe because he was 3d string and didn't play much so wasn't the big study - produced, wasn't given 1 shot in 3 games where things weren't going our way and we needed some type of boost.

Somehow someway Bucky's offense is going to work and score 31+ points.

Bucky's defense will repeat its performance from last week - except the 4th and 9 and following plays.

NE scores <24.

Bucky goes bowling! Why because Bowling Alleys have beer!
